I have to say this was a nice little recipe. We had some garden fresh turnips that we were given at church.
We did a little changes here and there to the recipe. We used a half a pound of ham parts, and half pound of bacon. Cooked the bacon, onions, potatoes, and turnips as directed.
We didn't simmer the soup as we got a late start to cooking it for dinner. We did add a little minced garlic, crushed read pepper and some dried basil.
We cooked it on high for 30 minutes while we browned the rolls.
