Pasta with Basil and Tomatoes Recipe. Quick, easy, and full of flavor. This is a light pasta dish that is full of flavor.


spaghetti 1 lb
olive oil 2 Tbsps
olive oil 1/4 cup
salt 1 Tbsp
tomato 2 chopped and crushed
basil (fresh) 1 cup leaves only torn
garlic clove 1 crushed
salt 1/2 tsp
pepper 1/4 tsp
oregano (dried) 1 Tbsp
balsamic vinegar 2 Tbsps
Parmigiano-Reggiano 1/2 cup shaved


  1. In a large stockpot bring water to a boil.
  2. Add the olive oil, salt, and spaghetti. Cook the spaghetti until it is al dente.
  3. In a large bowl combine the tomatoes, basil, and crushed garlic.
  4. Add the salt, pepper, and oregano.
  5. Add the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Mix well.
  6. Add the wet cooked pasta and toss.
  7. Remove the crushed garlic.
  8. Serve and top with the shaved pieces of Parmigiano Reggiano.
