Ingredients


Caramel
sugar 2 cups
Flan
egg 8
sugar 2 cups
vanilla extract 1 Tbsp
milk 4 cups


Directions

  1. In a saucepan heat the sugar over low heat to make the caramel. Watch it carefully making sure it does not burn.
  2. Pour the caramel into a 1 quart glass pie dish.
  3. Coat all the sides of the bowl make sure you don't burn your fingers.
  4. In a mixing bowl beat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract for 3 minutes.
  5. Add the milk and continue to beat.
  6. Pour the egg mixture into caramel coated glass bowl.
  7. Place the glass bowl/dish into a roasting pan. Fill the roasting pan with water until it goes half way up the glass bowl.
  8. Place in the oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Remove from the roasting pan and place on a wire rack allowing it to cool completely. Place in the refrigerator for 1 to 3 hours prior to serving.
